The Bridge is a nickname for a court ordered work release program that we serve on Friday nights.  There are two programs that exist in one facility. One is an eighteen-month program downstairs and one is a six-month program that meets upstairs. The programs are for non-violent offenders that allow them to live in a minimum-security housing arrangement and get acclimated back into society by working honest jobs.

The program requires that the men go to different groups throughout the week. On Friday nights, they have the option of whether to attend an AA group or attend a church service that we put on. Pastor Joe has been serving this ministry by preaching and leading worship there since 2007. It is an incredible opportunity to reach people with the gospel and see men transformed by the power of God as the Bible is taught verse by verse.

We partner with Calvary Chapel St. Pete to and together we do two church services every Friday night. We do one service with each program at the same time from 7:30 to 8:30. Over the years we have seen God bless this ministry in tremendous ways with many men making decisions for Christ. There are at least 25 men who attend the upstairs service each week and approximately 40 who attend downstairs.

The teams that go in are typically made up of men who will lead worship, preach, and pray. If you feel called to serve with this ministry, send an email to info@calvary813.com and request more information.
